Tapered Drill Rods
The catalog covers 7°, 11° and 12° taper angles, with rod lengths from 600 mm to 8000 mm depending on rod size and taper. The available combinations support quarrying, mining, tunneling and construction drilling where a compact tapered drill string is required.
Tapered drill rods transmit impact energy and rotation from the rock drill to the tapered drill bit. SPM supplies H22 and H25 tapered drill rods for matched top hammer drilling systems, with taper angles selected to suit the bit connection and drilling setup.
Tapered drill rods are used with matching tapered bits in mining, quarrying, tunneling and construction. They are suited to compact pneumatic or hydraulic top hammer systems where rod size, taper angle and length must be matched to the rock drill, target hole depth and drilling conditions.
The following representative specifications show common rod sizes and lengths from the catalog. Click the taper angle to send an inquiry for the required configuration.

Rod selection starts with the required taper angle, rod size and length. The taper must match the drill bit, while H22 or H25 rod size and the required rod length should be selected according to the rock drill, hole depth and working conditions. Correct matching helps maintain stable energy transfer through the drill string and reduces unnecessary wear at the connection.
The tables above show representative tapered drill rod specifications. For the complete list of lengths, part numbers and additional Top Hammer drilling tool information, download the full product catalog.
